2009 Winter Bird Count

Turkey Vulture On Saturday January 3, birdwatchers gathered at Chilo Lock 34 Park, Crooked Run Nature Preserve, Kelley Nature Preserve, and Sycamore Park to participate in the annual Park District Winter Bird Count. The bird count is conducted annually to census the diversity and number of birds in each park. For the 2009 count, 648 total birds were counted, comprising 45 different species.
