Williamsburg to Batavia Hike Bike Trail

The Williamsburg to Batavia Hike/Bike Trail is starting to roll. The Ohio Department of Transporation approved a contract for engineering work on the portion of the trail between the East Fork State Park campground and the lake overlook. This work is being funded by a Transportation Enhancement Grant from the Federal Highway Administration with local matching funds coming from the villages and townships of Williamsburg and Batavia. The Clermont County Engineers Office will be working on the section of the trail beginning in Williamsburg, and is preparing specifications for the bridge crossing Cain Run Creek. If all goes well, the first section of the trail from Williamsburg to the lake overlook should be completed by the fall of 2008.
